Blepharoplasty (Eyelid surgery)
Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery)
Due to changes in the skin, muscle, and fatty tissue around the eyes, sagging of the eyelids is one of the most noticeable aging signs of the face. These changes often occur with aging. In some cases, due to genetics, there is excess skin around the eyelid region, so much so that the visual field is affected. Blepharoplasty is a procedure for those who wish to restore a more youthful appearance around their eye region. In this procedure, incisions are made in the upper and/or lower eyelids, and the excess skin is removed. Done in conjunction with Brow Lifting, the results of Blepheroplasty can be remarkable.
The procedure lasts approximately 1 hour, and can be done under local or general anesthesia. In either case, the patient experiences no discomfort during the procedure. There is some post-operative swelling and bruising, and the patient can return to work and normal daily activities after 1 week.
