Due to genetics and aging, the outer ends of the eyebrows can start to droop down, giving the patient an older and more tired look. Lifting of the outer ends can restore and remarkably enhance a youthful appearance. In some patients, the procedure is often done alone, while in others, the procedure is often effectively done in conjunction with forehead lifting, midface lifting and blepheroplasty (eyelid surgery.)
The procedure can be done through either conventionally or endoscopically, the main difference being a smaller incision with the endoscopic method. The incision is made within the hair so that there will be no visible scarring.
The procedure lasts approximately 1 hour, and can be done under local or general anesthesia, and in either case, the patient will not experience any discomfort during the procedure. There will be slight post operative swelling and bruising, and the patient will be able to return to work and normal daily activities after 1 week.
